FIFA World Cup-2022: Moroccan Delegation Arrives in Doha

Doha – The delegation of the Moroccan national soccer team arrived Sunday evening in Doha, Qatar, to compete in the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, scheduled from November 20 to December 18.

Upon arrival, the delegation was greeted at Hamad International Airport by the Moroccan ambassador to Doha, Mohamed Setri and members of the embassy of the Kingdom.

A large audience composed of members of the Moroccan community came to the place of residence of the national team in order to support the Atlas Lions and encourage them in this international competition.

The delegation of the national team includes seven players, namely Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti, Yahya Attiatallah, Yahya Jabrane, Munir El Kajoui, Selim Amallah, Jaouad El Yamiq, Azzedine Ounahi which will be joined by the rest of the group (19) still engaged with their respective clubs, said the Royal Moroccan Federation of Football (FRMF) in a statement published on its website.

The delegation of the national team is led by Abdelmalek Abroune, member of the Board of Directors of the FRMF, who represents the president of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, head of delegation, added the same source.

At the finals of the World Cup 2022, the Atlas Lions will play in Group F, alongside Belgium, Croatia and Canada.

In preparation for this global event, the Moroccan team will face in a friendly match its Georgian counterpart next Thursday in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. The match is scheduled starting 8 p.m. local time (5 p.m. Morocco time).
