This meeting was held in the presence of the Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Secretary General of the Government, Mohamed Hajoui, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lakjaa and the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Hassan Boubrik, the Department of the Head of Government said in a statement.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the latest provisions relating to the generalization of medical coverage, scheduled for December 1, 2022, as well as the procedures for the integration of other categories of beneficiaries of this project, in full compliance with the schedule previously set by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, noted the statement.
The meeting was also an opportunity to examine the progress of the health sector digitization program, so that it can ensure the support of this project, as well as the progress of the development of the Unified Social Register (RSU).
The Head of Government recalled, on this occasion, the High Royal Orientations relating to the generalization of medical coverage by the end of 2022, stressing that the implementation of this royal project of great importance is one of the essential foundations of the construction of the social state that the government program aims to consolidate, according to the same source.
Akhannouch added that the completion of the medical coverage generalization, in this difficult situation and in compliance with the deadlines, is an essential step for the consolidation of Moroccans’ social protection, noting, in this regard, that the 2023 draft finance bill provides for the necessary funding to cover the costs of membership in the compulsory health insurance of people unable to pay.
