Gov’t Council Approves Draft Decree on Revaluation of Pensions Paid by Social Security Fund

Rabat – The Government Council, meeting on Thursday in Rabat under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, approved the draft decree No. 2.22.910 on the revaluation of pensions paid by the National Social Security Fund (CNSS).

Presented on behalf of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, by the Minister Delegate for the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, the draft decree comes within the framework of the implementation of the provisions of Article 9 of the Dahir bearing law n° 1.72. 184 on the social security system authorizing the CNSS Board of Directors to submit proposals for revaluation of pensions paid by the scheme, the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, said at a press briefing after the council.

Thus, the CNSS Board of Directors has studied and proposed an increase of 5% of these pensions, provided that this rise is not less than 100 dirhams per month minimum, said Baitas.

He added that under this proposal and as part of the government’s ongoing effort to improve the situation of private sector retirees, this project approves an increase, as of January 1, 2020, the value of old age pension and death benefit that were liquidated by the CNSS before that date.
