“Marking the great return after two consecutive years of forced stoppage due to the Covid-19, this edition has seen the presence of more than 150,000 spectators who attended the various screenings within the framework of the Festival: at the Conference Palace, Jemaâ El Fna Square, the Colisée cinema and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum,” said Hajji in an interview with “M24”, MAP’s news channel.
Referring to the strongest and the most significant moments of this exceptional edition, Hajji highlighted the series of meetings and debates organized as part of this film event, with the key to a friendly exchange and positive interaction between the public and professionals in the world of the 7th art, including actors, producers, directors and screenwriters, who came to meet a passionate public.
For his part, the Festival’s artistic director, Rémi Bonhomme, highlighted the importance of this edition after two years of stoppage due to the global health crisis, saying it is a “return impatiently awaited.”
“The public wanted to return to theaters and live the collective experience that represents a film festival,” he noted, stressing the role of this kind of artistic events as a meeting point, debate and exchange between the various components of the film field, from around the world.
He also welcomed the “strong” presence and involvement of the public in the sessions “In conversation With …”, noting that this enthusiasm has impressed all guests, including the Bollywood artist Ranveer Singh, the French director Leos Carax, the Franco-Lebanese composer Gabriel Yared and many others.
