Morocco-UAE: First Phases of Bilateral Cooperation Program in Security Fields Launched

Rabat – The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), in partnership with the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police, start on Monday the implementation of the first phases of the bilateral cooperation program in the fields of police training and exchange of expertise and knowledge in a number of security areas of common interest between the Moroccan and Emirati parties.

The framework of bilateral cooperation between Morocco’s security services and their counterparts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi includes the implementation of the visits exchange program between the security executives of both parties, in order to learn about the experiences and expertise in different areas and police specialties, the DGSN said in a statement.

It also concerns the holding of joint sessions of specialized training in security areas relating to the fight against crime, maintaining public order and consolidating the role of science and new techniques in the police field.

The activities of the bilateral cooperation and advanced program between the two countries also include the organization by the DGST of specialized training sessions in specific intelligence areas, for the executives of the Abu Dhabi police, with the aim of allowing these executives to learn about the distinguished Moroccan experience in the field of fighting against terrorist organizations and cross-border crime.

As part of the implementation of this partnership, added the statement, the Royal Institute of Police hosts, from Monday and for a period of two months, a theoretical training session specialized in the field of judicial police and the fight against crime, for the benefit of senior officials under the command of Abu Dhabi police, under the supervision of Moroccan security officials.

This session will be followed by a period of applied training in centralized and decentralized services under the National Security, including the National Brigade of the Judicial Police, the Laboratory of Scientific and Technical Police and the Casablanca Prefectural Service of the Judicial Police.

The realization of this partnership program comes in implementation of the decisions of the meeting that brought together the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance with the Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police, on the sidelines of his working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on October 7, 2022, as well as within the framework of the common desire to strengthen Moroccan-Emirati cooperation in various security areas, the aim being to ensure the strengthening of the security of the two countries and the safety of their citizens, said the same source.
