Fez, Ideal Place to Defend Alliance of Civilizations Goals (Spanish FM)

Fez – The city of Fez represents the ideal place to defend the goals of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), said Tuesday Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares.

Speaking at the ministerial meeting of the group of friends of the UNAOC within the framework of the 9th forum of the Alliance, the Spanish official stressed that Fez, where several civilizations have coexisted, is the ideal place to defend the goals of this alliance, highly praising the efforts of the Kingdom in this direction.

He also highlighted the importance of the spiritual capital of the Kingdom as a Moroccan and African city, stressing the need to listen to the voice of Africa, given the fact that the population of the continent is expected to reach 2.5 billion by 2050.

In addition, Albares called for continued efforts to address the challenges that were at the origin of the creation of the UNAOC.

The Spanish minister called on the international community to support partners in precarious situations, adding that “our prosperity depends on that of our neighbors and the international community in general”.

“The Alliance is a good example as an important mechanism to promote proactive diplomacy and to establish peace and resolve conflicts,” he said.
