Rabat to Host Tuesday Closing ceremony of Light Institutional Twinning between General Secretariat of Gov’t, Council of State of Italy

Rabat – The General Secretariat of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco (SGG) and the Council of State of Italy (CEI) organize, next Tuesday at the headquarters of the SGG in Rabat, the closing ceremony of the light institutional twinning on “Accompaniment of the General Secretariat of the Government in the process of regulatory convergence with the European Union”.

This ceremony is an opportunity to highlight the results of the twinning project signed in April 2022 establishing a privileged partnership between the SGG and the Italian Council of State allowing the opening on the experience of a country with many institutional aspects in common with Morocco, including the process of development of legal standards, said the SGG in a statement.

Among the main achievements made within the framework of this twinning financed by the European Union (EU), is the reinforcement of the convergence towards the European Acquis by consolidating the process of bringing together the SGG to the EU practices in terms of legislation and regulation.

At this level, a functional analysis and an action plan have been elaborated by the Italian experts allowing the sharing of the best practices adopted in this field.

With regard to the institutional strengthening of legal monitoring, the project resulted in an action plan to improve the performance of this system, based on the sharing of new practices, namely the monitoring systems set up in Italy, Belgium and Germany.

In terms of capacity building of SGG staff, various actions have been undertaken including the organization of training sessions and sharing in the field of law and updating of guides developed under the first twinning (2012-2015), added the statement.
