17th UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage Kicks Off in Rabat

Rabat – The 17th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO kicked off, Monday in Rabat, under the chairmanship of Morocco, with the participation of ministers and representatives of civil society from 180 countries, as well as UNESCO officials.

The opening session of this meeting, which runs until December 3, was marked by the message addressed by HM King Mohammed VI to the participants, which was read by Secretary General of the Government, Mohamed Al Hajoui, in the presence of Adviser to HM the King, André Azoulay, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Permanent Representative of Morocco to UNESCO, Samir Addahre and Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay.
