Speaking by video conference at the opening of the 5th edition of the Morocco Today Forum (MTF), Akhannouch noted that since His ascension to the throne, HM King Mohammed VI has continued to make reforms to give women the place they deserve in society.
The head of government has, in this sense, recalled, first, the reform of the Family Code in 2004, followed by the reform of the Constitution in 2011, stressing that the woman is strongly present, today, on the political scene.
The current government has six women ministers, against only one in 2016, which guarantees women access to power and decision-making.
Akhannouch, who congratulated the organizers for the choice of this theme, also highlighted the representation of women in the House of Representatives, which has increased significantly to reach 96 deputies in 2021, which corresponds to a quarter of the first chamber, against 81 deputies in 2016.
