Economy Minister Meets with 2 High-Ranking World Bank Officials

Rabat – Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah, met on Friday with Mamta Murthi and Riccardo Puliti, respectively Vice President for Human Development and Vice President for Infrastructure at the World Bank Group, as part of the working visit to Morocco that the two Bank officials are conducting from 5 to 9 December 2022.

During this meeting, Fettah reviewed the main reform projects undertaken by Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, in the areas of human development and infrastructure, said a statement from the Ministry.

In this regard, the Minister stressed the resolutely social nature of the 2023 Finance Bill, which is in line with the efforts made by the government to implement major social reforms such as the generalization of social coverage and the reform of the education system.

Discussions with the two senior World Bank officials also focused on Morocco’s major ambitions in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors and the means to achieve them.

In this context, the representatives of the World Bank have expressed the willingness of this institution to accompany the relevant strategies launched by our country, while emphasizing the role of model that Morocco can play for other African countries in these areas, concludes the statement.
