Morocco Reports 112 New COVID-19 Cases over Past 24 Hours

Rabat – Morocco recorded 112 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Saturday, adding that 195 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the same period.

A total of 24,916,459 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 23,416,829, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, noting that 6,862,225 people have received the third dose of the vaccine, while 57,010 people have received the fourth dose.

According to the same source, the number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rose to 1,270,119 while recoveries increased to 1,252,872, i.e. a recovery rate of 98.6%.

The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (39), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (34), Fez-Meknes (10), Sous-Massa (10), Marrakech-Safi (06), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Houceima (04), Daraa-Tafilalet (03), Laayoune Sakia El Hamra (02), Guelmim-Oued Noun (02), Dakhla Oued Eddahab (01) and Beni Mellal-Kenifra (01).

As for coronavirus-related fatalities, their number reached 16,288, with one new case recorded in the last 24 hours in the Fez-Meknes region.

The number of active cases stands at 959, with one severe or critical case reported in the past 24 hours, for a total of 8 cases.
