Signed by the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, and the President of the Spiritual Direction of the Muslims of Kazakhstan, the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nauryzbai Haji Taganuly, this agreement covers the exchange of invitations to participate in Islamic seminars and conferences, as well as information and ideas for the eradication of extremist ideology.
It also provides for the exchange of experiences in organizing the pilgrimage and raising awareness of pilgrims from both countries, sharing expertise in the field of construction of mosques and restoration of Islamic buildings.
Under this agreement, the Moroccan side invites Kazakh ulema and reciters of the Holy Quran to take part in Hasan talks.
It is also a question of inviting Kazakh reciters of the Holy Quran to participate in the Mohammed VI International Prize for memorization, chanting, declamation and exegesis of the Holy Quran and to put the experience of the Kingdom, in terms of training of imams at the disposal of the Kazakh side.
This agreement includes the exchange of information between the two parties to promote the Islam of moderation and fairness, Toufiq told the press, stressing the importance of immunizing Muslims against all destructive ideas, including those of takfir (Islamic excommunication) and terrorism.
It is also the exchange of expertise in the management of the religious thing, as well as the exchange of students, ulama and reciters, added the minister.
For his part, Haji Taganuly described as “historic moment” the signing of this agreement which is likely to further strengthen relations between Morocco and Kazakhstan in all areas, including religious, and this, thanks to the efforts of the Kazakh President and His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine.
