“HM King Mohammed VI has put a lot of means to advance soccer in Morocco,” said Regragui, at the pre-game press conference of the 2022 World Cup semi-final.
He added that the radiance of Moroccan soccer is the result of the special and permanent attention that the Sovereign never ceases to surround the national soccer, praising the farsighted vision of HM the King for the development of the sports sector in general and soccer in particular.
Regragui also referred to the creation of the Mohammed VI Academy of soccer “which is part of the royal project,” noting that this Academy has trained talented players who are currently playing in the national team, namely Youssef En-Nesyri, Azzedine Ounahi, Reda Tagnaouti and Nayef Aguerd.
He added that HM the King “has put the means in sports facilities in Morocco, with the creation of many stadiums and training grounds”, in order to develop national soccer.
He continued that the feat achieved by the national team in the World Cup, shows that Moroccan soccer is progressing considerably.
The semi-final between Morocco and France will be played Wednesday night (20:00) at the El Beyt stadium in Al Khor.
In the quarterfinals, Morocco eliminated Portugal (1-0), while France punched its ticket at the expense of England (2-1).
The other semi-final tonight will oppose Argentina and Croatia.
