Serbian Magazine Devotes Special Feature to Morocco-Serbia Relations Anniversary

Belgrade – Serbian CorD Magazine devoted a special feature to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Serbia in its December issue.

In addition to an article signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, the monthly publication published a series of articles and interviews covering various aspects of bilateral relations.

For example, CorD featured an op-ed by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić entitled “Traditional friends, partners for the future.”

On this occasion, the head of Serbian diplomacy stressed his country’s strong commitment to “continue its successful harmonization with Morocco in international organizations, in a spirit of friendship and mutual trust.”

“We are very proud of the unbreakable historical ties we have with the Kingdom of Morocco, a country with which we commemorate this year 65 years of diplomatic relations,” he said, highlighting the many events, organized throughout the year to celebrate this anniversary under the program “Serbia in Morocco and Morocco in Serbia.”

Dalic also reaffirmed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Morocco “for its continued support for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia,” as well as for “the principled position” maintained by Morocco in international organizations.

“This anniversary year is an opportunity to affirm our common desire to develop cooperation in all areas, for which Belgrade and Rabat have shown great readiness,” he noted, welcoming the “rich history of unity” shared by the two countries.

In addition, the magazine has paid particular attention to the cultural component of Moroccan-Serbian cooperation.

As a country deeply invested in global trends and the agenda of international cultural cooperation, the Republic of Serbia is fully committed to the development of cultural cooperation with Morocco on a multilateral level, assured the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and Information of Serbia, Maja Gojković.

On the diplomatic side, the magazine published an interview with the Moroccan ambassador to Serbia, Mohammed Amine Belhaj, devoted to the values and principles shared by the two countries.

“I believe that there is a clear will on the part of our respective leaders to further develop our bilateral relations and transform them into a strategic partnership based on mutual respect and deep-rooted friendship,” the Moroccan diplomat assured.

CorD has prepared an interview with the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), Adel El Fakir, devoted to the international brand “Morocco – Land of Light” launched by the Office and the future prospects of air links between the two countries.

This 16-page dossier also features several articles covering the economic aspect of bilateral relations, highlighting the prospects for the development of trade relations through the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investment and Exports (AMDIE), as well as the opportunities offered in the agricultural sector.

Not to be outdone, the depth of human relations between the two countries was highlighted through the testimonies of Moroccan students studying in Serbia, fashion designers and musicians.
