USA-Africa Leaders’ Summit “Great Opportunity” to Strengthen Relations Between Two Sides (Minister)

Washington – The USA-Africa Leaders’ Summit, held in Washington on December 13-15, is “a great opportunity to strengthen overall relations between the United States and the African continent,” the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fattah Alaoui, said on Wednesday.

This meeting is also an opportunity for Morocco to highlight the excellent cooperation between the Kingdom and the United States under the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in several areas, including under the free trade agreement between the two countries which has borne fruit, added the minister in a statement to the press on the sidelines of the summit.

It is also an occasion for the Kingdom to highlight its successful African strategy desired and encouraged by HM the King, she said, stressing that Morocco is a major investor in Africa and is a hub for talent, funding and innovation in Africa.

“This is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the successes of Morocco and to highlight the willingness of the country to capitalize on its achievements to attract more investors to the country but also for all of Africa,” said the minister.

She emphasized, in this regard, the great potential of the Kingdom in several areas, “including agriculture, where Morocco has an important role to play for Africa, especially with regard to fertilizer in this difficult period.”

The Minister also highlighted the strengths of Morocco in the sectors of energy transition, green energy, industry and logistics.
