Rabat – The energy rehabilitation program for mosques, implemented under the framework agreement signed in 2014 between the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Energy Transition, has equipped 6,048 mosques in different regions of the Kingdom with energy efficiency devices for a total budget of 97 million dirhams, said Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq.

In response to a question from the Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism, during the session devoted to oral questions at the House of Advisors, Toufiq stressed that studies are underway under this program to equip 1,980 additional mosques before the end of 2023.

Accompanying this logistical work, the Ministry has organized, as part of the awareness of energy efficiency techniques, training for staff of the central administration and field services, as well as awareness workshops for Imams, Mourchidines and Mourchidate, added the Minister.
