Fire in Gas Depot in Mohammedia: No Casualties (Local Authorities)

Mohammedia – A fire broke out on Thursday, around 6 p.m., in a gas depot in Mohammedia, local authorities said.

Immediately alerted, the local authorities and security and civil protection services moved to the scene to take the necessary measures, according to the same sources, ensuring that the intervention teams, supported by elements of the company Marsa Morocco and Lydec, have managed to control the fire at around 7:30 p.m., which has not caused any casualties.

Regarding the material damage, five tankers of 8 tons each of the 7 on the site had caught fire, said the same source.

As part of the preventive measures, the intervention teams have ensured to secure the area adjacent to the gas depot by evacuating the population in anticipation of any potential danger.

An investigation was opened by local authorities under the supervision of the competent prosecutor to determine the circumstances of this incident.
