Authorities Locate Human Bones’ Burial Site in Ruins of Abandoned House in Al Aroui

Rabat – Elements of the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ), in coordination with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), succeeded, on Wednesday morning, under the supervision of the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Rabat, in locating the burial site of human bones in the ruins of an abandoned house in “Boukhnouz” (suburb of Al Aroui city), which was used as a shelter for extremist elements.

A joint statement from the DGST and the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) indicates that field operations and scientific tracing procedures carried out by crime scene experts, in collaboration with the Hygiene Office, employees of the National Promotion and representatives of the local authorities, under the direct supervision of the deputy of the King’s Attorney General in Nador, led to the extraction of the remains of human bones allegedly linked to a voluntary homicide committed in 1999.

The location of the burial site of these human bones is part of the judicial investigation carried out by the BNPJ following suspicions related to a voluntary homicide of a person who disappeared in 1999 in suspicious circumstances and linked to extremist criminal motives, the same source specifies.

A doctor from the Hygiene Office in Nador and a head doctor at the Hassani Hospital in the same city were called and went to the site of the discovery of the remains of these human bones, the same source added, specifying that experts from the scientific and technical police were mobilized to take DNA samples in order to submit them to the necessary scientific analyses to establish the identity of the victim.
