Rabat – Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman Mustapha Baïtas said Thursday that the tourism sector revenues for the year 2022 recorded an increase of 120% compared to 2019.

“Tourism has experienced a strong recovery after the opening of the borders compared to the year 2019,” said Baïtas at a press briefing held after the Council of Government’s meeting, noting that revenues have increased by 120% between 2019 and 2022.

The tourism sector will experience, in the coming months, the launch of several innovative projects, including the revision of promotional campaigns, added the Minister.

Baïtas said that exports of the handicrafts sector will exceed for the first time the threshold of one billion dirhams at the end of December due to strong demand for national crafts, recalling that “the best figure achieved by Morocco so far in this area was 795 million dirhams”.
