Morocco-EU Partnership is Attacked by Those Who Are Disturbed by a Morocco Liberating Itself, Strengthening its Protagonism (FM)

Rabat – The “harassment and multiple media attacks” targeting the Morocco-EU partnership “emanate from persons and structures disturbed by this Morocco which is liberating itself, this Morocco which strengthens its protagonism, this Morocco which projects itself unabashedly in its African and Arab geopolitical environment”, said Thursday in Rabat, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.

These attacks within the European institutions are directed and are the result of calculations and a desire to harm the Morocco-EU partnership, said Bourita at a joint press briefing after his talks with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

The Morocco-EU partnership faces continuous legal harassment and repeated media attacks, the minister stressed, noting that the partnership between Rabat and Brussels must be immune and protected.

Morocco will defend this partnership, and counts on its partners to defend it, he said, adding that it is a partnership of shared values, and it is within this framework that the Kingdom will continue to work with the European Union.

Borrell is on an official visit to the Kingdom to strengthen the landmark EU-Morocco partnership, which has continued in recent years to develop, becoming a reference in the EU’s neighborhood policy.
