Moroccan Experience in Field of Justice Highlighted in Nouakchott

Nouakchott – The Moroccan experience in the field of justice was highlighted during the Forum “General states of justice”, held from 05 to 11 January in Nouakchott.

In a presentation at the opening of this event, the adviser to the Minister of Justice, Najim Bensami, highlighted the attention given by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the project of justice reform, emphasizing the modernization and moralization of justice and the enshrinement of its independence.

In this context, the Kingdom has seen the launch of a new dynamic of legal and judicial reforms, which have established the judiciary as an independent power in the Constitution of 2011, which states that “the judiciary is independent of the legislative and executive powers,” he noted.

To implement this constitutional principle, the actors involved in justice in Morocco have begun the implementation of a comprehensive and deep reform of the judicial system, through a participatory approach, said Bensami.

This approach, he added, has allowed the majority of civil and human rights actors, in addition to public institutions operating in the judicial and legal field, to become actively involved in this national project, through the organization of regional seminars and national meetings, which led to the installation in 2012, by His Majesty the King, of the members of the High Authority for National Dialogue on the reform of the Justice.
