Magnitude-5.3 Quake Recorded off Al Hoceima Province

Rabat – A magnitude-5.3 earthquake was recorded on Saturday off the Al Hoceima province, the National Institute of Geophysics (ING) said.

The tremor, whose epicenter is located in the town of Nekkour, occurred at 9H12min 29sec (GMT+1), said the National Network of Monitoring and Seismic Alert, under the ING, in a seismic alert bulletin.

At a depth of 21 km, the tremor occurred at a latitude of 34.996°N and a longitude of 3.817°W, the same source said.
