Hajj 1444 H: Saudi Arabia Lifts Restrictions on Number and Age of Pilgrims

Riyadh – The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the lifting of restrictions on the number of pilgrims and their ages for Hajj 1444 H.

“Number of Hajj pilgrims in 1444H will return to how it was before the Coronavirus pandemic without age restrictions,” stressed Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq al-Rabiah.

Speaking in Jeddah on Monday at the opening of the Hajj Expo 2023, al-Rabiah said that the visa for Umrah can be collected in less than 24 hours, adding that worshippers holding this visa will have access to all cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that they wish to visit.

The Minister also said that Hajj missions will be allowed to make arrangements with any company authorized to provide services in order to promote competition.

He also announced the reduction of the cost of insurance for Umrah from 235 riyals to 88 riyals (-63%), and the reduction of the cost of insurance for pilgrims from 109 riyals to 29 riyals (-73%).

The Minister also stressed the high priority that the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gives to the service of pilgrims worldwide, especially through the provision of digital services to complete their pilgrimage in peace and the best conditions.
