World Economic Forum: Akhannouch Holds Meetings with Political, Business Leaders

Davos (Switzerland) – Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch on Wednesday held meetings with political and business leaders on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, which continues until January 20 in Davos.

Akhannouch met with former British Prime Minister Toni Blair, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Director-General Gerd Müller, and Gautam Adani, founding chairman of the Adani Group, an Indian conglomerate specializing in commodities trading and port operations.

The Moroccan official also met with his Belgian counterpart, Alexander De Croo, to discuss prospects for investment in renewable energy in Morocco.

Akhannouch is leading an official delegation to Davos that includes Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade; Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development; Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies; and Ali Seddiki, Director General of the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency.

The Forum will be attended by more than 2,500 leaders, public actors, heads of major companies and officials of international and non-governmental organizations. In addition, more than 50 heads of state and government will attend the 2023 edition of the Forum, characterized by many geopolitical, economic and social challenges.
