Sofiane Boufal Joins Al-Rayyan SC

Doha – Moroccan international Sofiane Boufal has joined Al-Rayyan SC from Angers SCO, the Qatari club announced on Tuesday.

The Moroccan striker has particularly stood out during the last World Cup Qatar-2022, contributing alongside the Atlas Lions to a historic qualification to the semi-finals of the competition.

On Monday, the French club had announced that an agreement in principle had been reached with Al-Rayyan SC for the transfer of Boufal, without providing further details on the duration or the amount of the transfer.

The 29-year-old winger becomes the second Moroccan player to leave Angers SCO, after the departure of Azzedine Ounahi, who signed for four and a half seasons with Olympique de Marseille.
