Moroccan Woman among Türkiye’s Earthquake Casualties – Embassy

Ankara – A Moroccan woman died in the violent earthquake that struck southern Türkiye on Monday, the Kingdom’s embassy in Ankara said on Tuesday.

The 51-year-old victim (H.M.) died in Antakya, capital of Hatay province, the same source said. 

Born in Casablanca on February 5, 1972, she was married to a Turkish citizen.

Her 16-year-old son, slightly injured, was transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment, the embassy added, assuring that he is in good condition.

A strong earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale shook the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş in southern Türkiye on Sunday night, causing extensive damage and a high death toll.
