Maroc Radar Websites Targeted by DDOS Cyberattack

Rabat – The various websites of the Moroccan News Agency (Maroc Radar) have been the target, since last Monday, of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS), which has caused numerous disruptions making their access difficult.

This serious incident cannot be explained outside of the geopolitical tensions that weigh on the region, as evidenced by the intensity of this cyber-attack against a public institution.

MAP engineers noticed an abnormally massive flow of traffic that saturated the bandwidth of the Internet links where these sites are hosted, before declaring the incident to MACERT, the Watch Center of the General Directorate for Information Systems Security (DGSSI).

Once the attack was noticed, MAP engineers set up a crisis cell with their partners to avoid a total unavailability of the websites and to reinforce the security devices put in place to face the disruptions that may occur.

A Distributed Denial of Service attack is a computer attack aimed at making a service unavailable and preventing legitimate users of a service from benefiting from it.
