Pregnant Woman from Small Village Blocked by Snow Transferred by Helicopter to Hospital in Ouarzazate

Ouarzazate – A pregnant woman who was about to give birth was transferred by helicopter on Sunday from the Aoudid douar (Tidli town), blocked by snow, to the Sidi Hsain Benaceur provincial hospital in Ouarzazate, said the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

Upon arrival at the Ouarzazate airport aboard a helicopter of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the pregnant woman was evacuated to an operating room of the Sidi Hsain Benaceur provincial hospital in an ambulance equipped with all necessary means, according to the same source.

The provincial delegation of Health and Social Protection in Ouarzazate has mobilized its human and logistical resources to intervene in areas affected by the current cold wave and snowfall and take care of urgent cases affected by this situation, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, said the ministry.

Medical teams of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection provide, in coordination with the services of the Ministry of Interior, the FAR, the Royal Gendarmerie and the National Security, medical services for the benefit of the population affected by the cold wave, especially in mountainous areas.

All the medical equipment and medicines needed to care for people affected by these bad weather are available, concludes the Ministry.
