According to a statement by the administration of the Ras El Ma local prison, the detainee committed suicide by hanging using a piece of cloth that he had torn from his clothes and attached to the window of his cell.
The competent prosecutor and the family of the deceased prisoner were informed immediately after the discovery of the incident, in accordance with the provisions of the law on the organization of prisons, the statement concluded.
