Abu Dhabi: Morocco Wins Arab Muay Thai Championship

Abu Dhabi – The Moroccan national team won the title of the Arab Muay Thai Championship, held in Abu Dhabi from March 2 to 5, under the supervision of the Arab Muay Thai Federation and the United Arab Emirates Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation.

The national Muay Thai team grabbed the title of Arab champion for the second consecutive time after winning nine medals including five gold, three silver and one bronze.

The Arab Muay Thai Championship brought together 170 athletes from 17 Arab countries, namely Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Syria, Libya, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, Kuwait, Mauritania, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

The five gold medals of the Moroccan team were won by Oumaima Belouarath (-48 kg), Abdelaali Zahidi (-71 kg), Aziz El Fellak (-81 kg), Youssef Asouik (-75 kg) and Othmane El Fekkaki (-91 kg).

Rima Rihana (-60 kg), Hamza Hmidach (-63 kg) and Yassine Mahsoune (-67 kg) won the three silver medals while the bronze went to Youness Mounin (-51 kg).
