Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this international sporting event, which is part of the series of Grand Prix, under the auspices of World Para Athletics, will be marked by the participation of Moroccan and foreign Paralympic champions and athletes who have set world records in their specialties to compete with each other to achieve new performances and improve their world rankings, according to a statement from the organizers.
During this international meeting, organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation for Sports for the Disabled in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Pre-school Education and Sports, the Moroccan delegation will be made up of 61 champions, including Ayoub Sadni, who pulverized the world record in the 400 M – T47 (men) during the previous edition, and Zakaria Derham, who broke the shot put – F33 world record by achieving a throw of 12.38 meters during the same edition.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the Royal Moroccan Federation for Sports for the Disabled will mobilize international and national experts to lead thematic meetings, training sessions, including a training classification for intellectual disabilities, a national symposium on “Women and Para-Sport”, awareness days on Para-Sport, a national meeting of federation member clubs for the 2022/2023 sports season and tributes to female sports personalities on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8).
At the 6th edition of this meeting, Morocco ranked 3rd in the final medals table, with some 48 medals to its credit, including 10 gold, 16 silver and 22 bronze. This 6th edition had also been marked by the pulverization of 03 world records and 05 continental records.
