Health Ministry Updates COVID-19 Therapeutic, Sanitary Protocol

Rabat – The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has proceeded, in accordance with the recommendations of the 66th meeting of the National Scientific Committee, to update the therapeutic and sanitary protocol of national management of cases of the coronavirus, as part of the National Plan for Monitoring and Response to COVID-19 Infection.

In a press release, the Ministry specifies that this fourth update comes in accordance with the principle of graduation in the management of public health emergencies. Following the significant improvement in the national epidemiological situation of Covid-19 and the recorded decrease in the level of danger and lethality of SARS-CoV-2, and in accordance with the recommendation of the World Health Organization, the Ministry decided to adopt and distribute the updated protocol to public and private health institutions.

In the same vein, the Ministry informs all citizens of the cessation of the publication of the daily COVID-19 bulletin as of Monday, March 6, 2023, announcing that a weekly bulletin will be published every Friday evening on the official portal of the Ministry and the social networking platforms of the Ministry.

According to the same source, COVID-19 is still a global health emergency and the Public Health Emergency Operations Center will continue to closely monitor the situation at the national and international levels and inform the public about any development related to this pandemic.

In addition, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare advises people with respiratory symptoms to wear masks, avoid mixing with others or going to crowded areas, and go to health facilities for diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

The ministry also reminds the elderly or chronically ill of the need to complete vaccination doses to strengthen immunity against the Covid-19 virus, the statement concluded.
