Head of Government Issues Circular for Implementation of ‘Awrach 2’ Program

Rabat – Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, has issued a circular providing for the implementation of the “Awrach 2” program, which aims at creating 250,000 direct job opportunities over two years, after the positive results achieved by the “Awrach” program in the year 2022.

This program is part of the integrated policy of the government in employment, which takes into account the different age groups and territorial specificities, accompanies the excluded from the labor market and facilitates their economic integration through innovative programs to improve employability and strengthen the chances of professional integration on the territorial level, without conditions of qualifications, said Monday a statement by the Department of the Head of Government.

These programs, said the same source, are conducted in partnership between ministerial departments, public institutions and local authorities as well as private sector companies, noting that the government has allocated to the “Awrach” program a budget of 2.25 billion dirhams for the year 2023.

The circular defined the components of the “Awrach 2” program, as well as the beneficiary categories, the benefits granted, the approach and governance of the implementation of the program.

Thus, according to the circular, the “Awrach 2” program consists of two components. The first component, relating to temporary general projects, is spread over an average period of about 6 months and is aimed at people facing difficulties in accessing the labor market, as well as people who have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic or other factors.

The second aspect is related to projects for the support of sustainable integration, which are particularly aimed at people without diplomas, who are employed by companies, cooperatives, associations and small businesses whose annual turnover does not exceed 10 million dirhams during the last 3 years, through the hiring of people seeking employment, not declared to the National Social Security Fund for more than 6 months.
