This increase is due in particular to the rise of 19.5% in the production indexes of “Manufacturing tobacco products” and “Leather and footwear”, that of the “Automotive industry” of 15.4% and that of “Manufacturing beverages” of 28%, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) explains in a note on the industrial, energy and mining production index (IPIEM) in the fourth quarter of 2022.
This development is also due to the increase of38.9% in the production index of “Manufacturing of computer, electronic and optical products”, that of the “Pharmaceutical Industry” of 13%, that of the “Manufacture of electrical equipment” of 21.1% and that of the “Food Industries” of 3.7%, adds the same source.
In contrast, the index of the “Chemical Industry” recorded a decline of 12.4%, that of the “Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products” of 12% and that of the “Manufacture of metal products, excluding machinery and equipment” of 24.4%.
