Al Hoceima: Six Mediators Arrested for Links with Criminal Network Active in Organizing Illegal Immigration Operations – Security Source

Al Hoceima – Elements of the Al Hoceima Regional Security, based on accurate information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territory Surveillance (DGST), managed Tuesday evening to arrest six organizers and mediators for their alleged links with a criminal network active in organizing illegal immigration operations by sea.

According to a security source, the first elements of the investigation indicate that four individuals, among the detainees, are active in organizing illegal immigration, while the fifth person arrested is suspected of being involved in mediation operations to attract candidates for immigration. The sixth respondent is suspected of involvement in fraud, swindling and identity theft.

Continued research in this case, adds the same source, have led to the arrest of three candidates for illegal immigration of Moroccan nationality, while the searches have resulted in seizing a fishing boat and a marine engine, which would have been used in illegal immigration operations.

The dismantling of this criminal network comes in the wake of the abortion by the security services in Al Hoceima, Tuesday morning, of an illegal immigration operation at the coast of Al Hoceima, and the arrest of 29 candidates for illegal immigration, including a girl and six minors.

The suspects were subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to clarify the circumstances of this case and determine its links and possible ramifications at national and international levels.
