This air link, the first connecting Essaouira with a Spanish city, is the result of efforts made by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), in partnership with the Provincial Tourism Council (CPT), and the campaign “Morocco Land of Lights”, including the tour light Act II, which aimed to boost Moroccan tourism and reposition the various destinations of the Kingdom on the Iberian market.
In this sense, the president of the CPT Essaouira, Redwane Khanne, said that Madrid has a special character given its position as a hub of Europe but especially to other continents (Latin America and North America), stressing that this new route, which will be provided at a rate of two weekly flights (Monday and Friday), will allow the Moroccan city to conquer new markets and diversify its customers.
Another flight linking Essaouira to Las Palmas will be scheduled by the company Binter Canarias in July, while another from Barcelona is under negotiation, he told MAP, noting that the link with Bordeaux, France, will resume early April.
