Women’s Football: Moroccan Lamia Boumehdi New TP Mazembe Head Coach

Kinshasa – TP Mazembe women’s team club has officially announced it has appointed Moroccan Lamia Boumehdi as head coach.

“Thus, it is a technician recognized in Morocco who was retained. The 39-year-old native of Berrechid was chosen to lead the sports project of the women’s team. She will sign a one-year lease with option”, says the TPM on its official website.

A talented striker, Lamia has played professionally for FC Berrechid, Sadaka FC in Lebanon, FC Trondheim (Norway), Perugia (Italy) where she played Futsal in D2.

Her qualities as a real striker and also as a group leader, will help her to start a professional coaching career that began in 2015 at Wydad and marked by experiences at the head of the Moroccan women’s national teams (U17 and U20) from 2017 to 2020 before leading the Moroccan women’s national team in 2020.

With the U17, she won the tournament “Girls Alsace Cup” in France. At the head of the (U20), Lamia obtained the bronze medal at the All Africa Games in Rabat in 2019 and then the title at the UNAF tournament held in Tangier.
