Not only did the Seleçao lose first place, but France (2nd, plus 1) doubled their lead. In fact, Les Bleus moved into second place thanks to successes in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against the Netherlands (4-0) and the Republic of Ireland (0-1).
Apart from the top three, the top 10 remains unchanged, with Belgium (4th, -) at the foot of the podium, closely followed by England (5th, -). Senegal (18th, up 1) and Denmark (19th, down 1) are the only other notable changes in the top 20, according to the same source.
The best progress was made by the Central African Republic (122nd, up 10). The Fauves of Bas-Oubangui climbed 10 places by twice beating Madagascar, which is now 30 places above them.
They are better placed than Namibia (106th, up 7), Malaysia (138th, up 7) and The Gambia (120th, up 6). The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be released on July 20.
