Morocco Logs 156 New COVID-19 Cases in Past 7 Days

Rabat – Morocco reported 156 new COVID-19 infections in the last seven days, said the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in its weekly bulletin, stressing that no deaths have been registered.

The ministry said that the receivers of the first dose have numbered 24,922,136, those who received at least two doses have reached 23,423,880, while 6,883,071 people were given at least three injections and 60,722 have completed their four-dose vaccine scheme.

The new weekly infection report brings the total number of infections since the first case was reported in Morocco to 1,272,889, with a weekly positivity rate of 9.1%.

New infections have been reported in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (74), Casablanca-Settat (40), Fez-Meknes (22), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (5), Souss-Massa (5), Marrakech-Safi (5), the Oriental (3), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1), and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1).

The total number of deaths is still 16,296 (overall case fatality 1.3%), with zero cases recorded in the last week. Active cases number 176, with zero severe or critical cases in the past week.
