Marrakech Airport: Two Brazilians Arrested for Alleged Involvement in International Cocaine Trafficking

Marrakech – Police at Marrakech-Menara airport arrested Sunday a traveler and his wife, Brazilian nationals aged 26 and 29, for their alleged involvement in international cocaine trafficking.

The arrest of the suspects took place during their arrival on board a flight from a European airport, after the security control operations have shown the likelihood that they carry additional quantities of the same drug in their intestines, a security source said, adding that they were taken to the terminal where 100 capsules containing 1 kg and 260 grams of cocaine were extracted.

The suspects were placed in custody to complete the investigation conducted by the prefectural judicial police under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor in order to reveal any possible ramifications of this criminal activity, said the same source.
