Rabat – The means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in agricultural investment were the focus of talks, Thursday in Rabat, between the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohammed Sadiki, and the Emirati Minister of Economy, Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri.

In a statement to the press after the meeting, Sadiki welcomed the strong relationship of brotherhood that binds Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the importance of developing investment in the agricultural sector and the transfer of technology between the two countries, especially to increase the production of agricultural sectors.

The Minister also stressed the need to strengthen the synergy between the private sector of both countries for a more effective bilateral cooperation that reflects the level of distinguished relations uniting the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco.

For his part, Al Marri stressed that this meeting provides an opportunity to encourage investment, explore avenues and future investment opportunities in agriculture, agricultural technologies and food sovereignty.

Hailing the strong and dynamic relations between the two countries, the Emirati official recalled the holding, earlier in the day, of the first ministerial session of the Moroccan-Emirati joint economic Commission, aiming in particular to strengthen economic and trade partnerships between the two countries and to develop cooperation mechanisms.

The first ministerial session of the Moroccan-Emirati joint economic Commission, marked by the participation of senior officials from both ministries and some public institutions and private sector actors of both countries, was preceded by a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, and Al Marri, which was crowned by the signing of a memorandum of understanding on economic and technical cooperation between the two parties.
