Interpol-Wanted Man Arrested in Tangier International Airport

Tangier – Policemen on Saturday arrested, at Tangier’s Ibn Batouta International Airport, a 24-year-old German-Ghanaian man, subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the German authorities for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.

The suspect was arrested upon arrival aboard a flight from Istanbul (Türkiye), a security source said, adding that the operation to check Interpol databases revealed that he is the subject of a red notice at the request of the national central bureau in Wiesbaden for his alleged involvement in cocaine and hashish trafficking.

The suspect was taken into custody pending his referral to the competent public prosecutor’s office, the same source added, specifying that the Rabat national central bureau “Interpol bureau”, attached to the General Directorate of National Security, was responsible for notifying its German counterpart of this arrest in the framework of the extradition procedure.
