Rabat, Lisbon Welcome Morocco-Spain-Portugal Tripartite Bid to Host 2030 World Cup (Joint Statement)

Lisbon – The governments of Morocco and Portugal have welcomed the tripartite bid with Spain to host the 2030 Football World Cup.

This bid ”constitutes a precedent in the football history, uniting for the first time countries from two different continents,” underlines the joint statement closing the 14th High Level Meeting between Morocco and Portugal, held Friday in Lisbon, under the chairmanship of the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch and the Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa.

“This joint bid will be the junction between Africa and Europe, between the North and South of the Mediterranean and between the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds,” said the Joint Statement adopted at the end of this meeting.
