Morocco-Saudi Arabia: Approval of MoU on Cooperation in Cultural Field

Jeddah – The Saudi Council of Ministers approved, during a meeting held Tuesday in Jeddah, under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, a memorandum of understanding of cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Morocco and Saudi Arabia had signed, last December 7, a memorandum of understanding of cooperation in the cultural field, in view of the bonds of friendship existing between the two countries and their will to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the cultural field in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in both countries.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Saudi Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, and Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, on the sidelines of the 23rd session of the Conference of Arab Culture Ministers, held in the Saudi capital.

This memorandum of understanding aims to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in cultural fields, including those related to heritage, architecture and design, museums, visual arts, theater and performing arts, literature and publishing, fashion, culinary arts, film and music, as well as the exchange of experiences on systems and policies of cultural aspect.

The agreement also covers the exchange of participation in festivals and cultural events between the two countries, the facilitation of all necessary procedures for this purpose, and the exchange of experiences on the implementation of agreements of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
