Speaking at a scientific symposium on efforts to combat extremism and promote the just and moderate Islam, which he co-chaired with Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Taoufiq, the Saudi minister stressed the need to block the path of people or parties with malicious intentions that seek to compromise the real image of Islam, which is that of tolerance and moderation.
“Morocco is a land of knowledge, culture and civilization, and is a model of tolerance, moderation and fairness,” said Al-Sheikh, who was speaking at the opening of the symposium, calling to “protect this benefit and block the way to those who seek to undermine the religion of Islam, or to sow discord in our countries and among our people.
Al Sheikh stressed that the Ulema of Morocco and Saudi Arabia are today at the forefront of the struggle to protect Islam “far from any form of extremism or excess”.
