After Apple and then Twitter, which have integrated the possibility of message editing, Meta has followed suit by officially announcing this new feature, after its latest version that brings the locking of discussions by a password or fingerprint.
This feature, however, is only allowed within 15 minutes after sending a message, and recipients will be notified that the text has been modified. “The recipients of the messages will be aware of the correction without seeing the history of the changes,” WhatsApp explained in the blog post.
To do this, Meta says they will have to long-press on the sent message to see the “edit” feature appear in the menu, within fifteen minutes of sending.
This new feature is not available on all phones at this time. It is being rolled out worldwide and will be available to all users in the coming weeks, WhatsApp said.
