Rabat: Police Arrest Individual for Alleged Involvement in Murder on French Soil (Security Source)

Rabat – Elements of the prefectural service of the Rabat judicial police, arrested Monday, in coordination with the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance, an individual aged 34 years for his alleged involvement in a case of voluntary manslaughter on French soil, a security source said.

According to the data on this case, which was the subject of an official denunciation sent by the French judicial authorities, the arrested individual is suspected of involvement in a case of assault and battery with a knife that led to the death of a French citizen of Tunisian origin in 2011 in Paris, said the same source.

By order of the Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was placed in custody to determine the ins and outs of this case, as well as all the criminal acts he is accused of.

The arrest of the suspect is part of the efforts made by the Directorate General of National Security to strengthen the mechanisms of international security cooperation in the fight against various forms of crime, the prosecution of persons wanted internationally and the activation of extradition procedures or prosecution in accordance with the conventions and national laws relating thereto, the source concluded.
