U23 AFCON: Four Moroccan Referees Selected by CAF

Casablanca – Four Moroccan referees have been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate at the Under-23 African Cup of Nations (U23 AFCON), scheduled for June 24 to July 8, 2023 in Morocco.

According to a statement by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), published on its website, the four Moroccan referees selected by CAF are Jalal Jayed as main referee, Hamza Naciri and Abdessamad Abertoun as assistant referees, in addition to Adil Zourak who will officiate at VAR.

CAF has also appointed Mohamed Kezzaz as technical trainer and Yahya Hadka as a member of the refereeing committee responsible for evaluating the competition’s referees, added the same source.

The draw for the U23-2023 Africa Cup of Nations has placed Morocco alongside Congo, Ghana and Guinea in Group A. Group B comprises Egypt, Mali, Gabon and Niger.
