“To achieve this goal, the royal vision has made it a priority to strengthen training in new professions and technologies,” added the minister, speaking at the opening of the first edition of GITEX Africa, the flagship event under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
She recalled that Morocco has created new Cités des Métiers et des Compétences (CMCs) to support the changes taking place in the trades and to strengthen skilled human capital in several technological fields, noting that the New Development Model (NMD) reflects this ambition by recommending that the Kingdom focus on a digital transition.
The choice of the Kingdom to host the first edition of “GITEX Africa”, she continued, stems from a deep conviction of the enormous potential that Morocco possesses, with young talents who have distinguished themselves on the international scene in various fields.
In this context, Mezzour stressed that the NMD recommends making digital and technological skills a vector for competitiveness and modernization of companies and for the development of new professions and sectors in order to keep pace with international changes.
She further noted that the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform is working on a national strategy for digital transition and administrative reform until 2030, which is currently being finalized.
This strategy reflects the Ministry’s commitment to implementing a digital transition in the Kingdom, she pointed out, noting that the government hopes that this exhibition will help attract more investments to the Kingdom and Africa.
