This project is part of the implementation of the Moroccan constitution’s Article 5, which stipulates that Amazigh is an official State language, as well as the interest expressed by HM King Mohammed VI for Amazigh as an essential component of the authentic Moroccan identity, rich in the plurality of its tributaries and common heritage of all Moroccans, the ministry said in a statement.
This progressive generalization is also in line with the legislative texts concerning the implementation of the official character of the Amazigh language, the framework law 51.17 and the government’s roadmap 2022-2026.
